FACTORY GIRL

Factory Girl is directed by the veteran Egyptian director Mohamed Khan who is known for his leading role in the Egyptian Realism cinematic movement in the 80s and it is his 23rd feature film.

 

The film was released in the Egyptian market from 19th of March till end of June 2014 and has been released in 6 countries: Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Palestine and Lebanon, and will be released in April 2015 in Sweden.

 

The film was well received by regional and international audiences and also got many awards including FIPRISCI award for best feature film and best actress award from Dubai Film Festival, Best Actress from Malmo Film Festival, Best Script from Sala Film Festival for women's films, Best Production of the year award at the Egyptian National Film Festival and it was the Egyptian contendenr to the Oscars 2015. 

 

The film was supported by different organisations around the world such as, Egyptian Ministry of Culture, Global Film Initiative, Women in Film Foundation, Sanad Fund and Enjaaz co-production.  

 

Through the process of the production and the post production Mohamed Samir was invited to participate with the film in different platforms such as Dubai Film Connection, Agora Film Market and Access to Markets workshop by Access media school and the Euromed AUDIOVISUAL.

 

Factory Girl is the first feature production of DayDream Art Production lead by the Egyptian producer Mohamed Samir
